Heh Heh, well – this is an article just highlighting some of experience in last couple of months. I am sometime too much annoyed because of the the attitude of some people, sometime I feel that they are annoyed on me. And I think I should write them down. Signs indicate that you are ruining your career
1. You’ve started implementing (or started believing in) popular (?) asshole driven development in your company (or in your team)
2. You are one of the biggest jerk who’s thinking that you are no more suitable for a “developer” position and you always want to be the PM or tech lead. LOL
3. You cannot find any topic to study this evening
4. You are so busy in development that your last blog post was about 2 or 3 months ago
5. You haven’t contributed in any single open source project yet, WTF!!
6. You are spending time to write a 7 page resume
7. You are not using any RSS aggregator (LOL)
8. You’ve never heard of any framework, nor using any
9. You’re neither member nor active in any online tech forum
10. WAMP is still the development platform for your LAMP app.
Thanks hasin bhai. You save my web application carrier by showing the signs. 🙂
I have got 7/10 or 8/10 heh heh.. I should give 8, as i dont use WAMP, i use XAMP 😛
These all are very important issues that we see most of the time. i think #1 and #2 as a most serious issues. and you see people waste their time to make their resume long and beautiful but they forget to study in the evening. these are nice reasons you mentioned. hope it helps us all…thanks.
Oh heh heh
Actually I meant Using Windows (Windows-Apache-MySQL-PHP) to develop php apps which will mainly run on LAMP 😀
We guys should remember these points to keep ourselves on track.
of course we should not have any sign of above (except special cases :D)
@shahid bhai – LOL
special case ta ki rokom?
just fun 🙂
ashole kichu sign akhono amar modhe roe geche 🙂

আমার ভিতরেও কিছু কিছু আছে 😦

Hi hasin,
So i found your blog :p and you are a ZDE i wish i could have that title too. You’re the one who gave me an intrerview right if im not mistaken.
And you have a book 🙂 wow.
Anyway just dropping by here.
All the points are ok, but I have some problem in 5 and 10. I will get 1/2 points on 10 cause some time i use LAMP.
lolz… nice post!
onek kisui thekei may be doore shore gesi mone hocche :p
coool!! (Y)
Asshole Driven development (ADD) – Any team where the biggest jerk makes all the big decisions is asshole driven development.
ha ha ha ha….. 😉
Even worse than a WAMP stack is the WIMP stack (Windows, IIS, MySQL or MS SQL, PHP), or some developers even doing the W stack: Windows, then upload the stuff to their LAMP system.
Hmm!! I see.
@IllegalCharacter – yup, you are right!
Nice Article.
I agree with Hasin vai.
This article reminds us our duty, responsibility and contribution to the open source development process that we cannot avoid by any excuse. Let us remember how many times we searched google.com and used others’ codes and projects.
And thinking oneself a big head is one of the biggest bars in his/her growth.
The nice article reminds us all the things.
Thanks for the good article.
“10. WAMP is still the development platform for your LAMP app.”
Thank God, I’m a Flash developer …
“3. You cannot find any topic to study this evening”
heh heh
How bout number 11 – You are ripping off Khoi Vinh’s blog style http://www.subtraction.com/
Oops;) It seems I’m ruining my career;)
0. You write retarded, self-absorbed, blog posts like this in a never ending stream of narcissism.
What is wrong with developing on WAMP stack? Yes, I do my development on WAMP, and I do my testing on both, WAMP and LAMP. It definitely makes for more portable code which I guess is something you never considered.
LOL, thanks to share. May god bless the web app developer.
lol agreed! Thats a nice evening read.
funny to read this when I was trying to find more texts about webdev apps and frameworks for ubuntu/linux.. today I spent 45 minutes trying to make skype (that updates without my permission) to wokr.. my WAMP server crashes 3 times (now I’m moving to a real linux/gnu server) and today I contribute with some scripts on forum (my last post on my blog is 2 months older)… funny text dude, thanks
being a “web-app” developer is a ruined career in the first place.
Too much “coding” in general, puts a damper on the gift of human spirit. All the sudden you start writing lists about “why people aren’t good enough”, “top 10 reasons that I am better than everyone else” etc.
Also, sometimes the biggest jerk makes the toughest decisions.
This paragraph presents clear idea designed for the new users of blogging,
that in fact how to do running a blog.
First off I would like to say terrific blog! I had a quick question
which I’d like to ask if you don’t mind. I was interested to find out how you
center yourself and clear your head prior to writing. I have had
a tough time clearing my mind in getting my thoughts out there.
I do take pleasure in writing however it just seems like the first 10
to 15 minutes are generally wasted simply just
trying to figure out how to begin. Any recommendations or tips?
Thanks!
